If you are a psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, counselor, child and youth worker,
historian, archeologist, or any other kind of
human service professional with a mission to make this world a better place, you are a "Prosocial Scientist" and we welcome you. If you succeed, you enrich us all.
At Prosocial Science we are sincere in this belief and it will show in our efforts to help
you in your mission. To be of assistance to you (and
therefore our community), we've set out to provide as many free and
useful services as we can.
If you are looking for clients, conference
speakers, seminar providers, or want to offer your services, or looking
to find a therapist, Prosocial Science offers a free search engine
called the
"Service Seeker". We
provide a growing number of links to useful online resources that we
think are pretty valuable in our
"Library", and highlight neat
ideas for improving our communities in our
"Ideas and Allies" section.
We have free
"Downloads", a
"Discussions" area, a searchable
area where you can find upcoming
"Conferences", and you can
submit your own for listing (if you are a not-for-profit organization or
a professional group). All of the services at Prosocial Science are free, and
there are no strings attached. Pretty darned prosocial, huh?
This site intends to be a valuable resource for

*"Social science" generally refers to the scientific study of society and social relationships. This is an extraordinarily broad focus!
Even so, when we speak about a social science we often don't think of
the important contributions made by other disciplines. Clearly, psychology, sociology, anthropology and political science are social sciences, but what about other related fields that have the capacity to
positively influence our society, our families, and our shared future? These areas are very diverse, but
generally aren't called "social sciences". This is why we
have chosen to
call such disciplines "prosocial science*".
We have taken the liberty of defining "Prosocial
Science" as the ethical application of scientific principles to objectives that contribute to our personal, interpersonal, and societal well-being. We acknowledge that this task is huge and multifaceted; it takes courage, talent, creativity, support, and great persistence, and that's why we're here - to help our "Prosocial Scientists"
contribute to our well-being. Our
